Police warn of kidnapping scam in Everett and Snohomish County

The Everett Police Department and Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office are warning the public about a “kidnapping scam” making the rounds in the area.  The scam involves the victim receiving a phone call where the caller tells the victim they have kidnapped their child or other relative and demand ransom money from the victim.

Community Transit proposes new bus service

New Boeing route, more Seattle trips and precursor to Swift Green Line will be proposed to Community Transit Board of Directors in 2017.

Community Transit proposed to add 21,000 service hours, or about six percent more bus service, in the next year.

The proposal would expand service in September 2017 and March 2018, bringing Snohomish County bus riders improved transit connections, a new route to the Paine Field manufacturing area, more weekday trips to Seattle and UW, and improved Sunday bus service with more frequent buses and later hours on some routes.

Snohomish County to raise money at Silvertips March Against Hunger Night

The Everett Silvertips, Volunteers of America, and Snohomish County are partnering to combat hunger at the Saturday, March 18, 2017, Silvertips game against the Victoria Royals.

Without access to food banks in Snohomish County, one in seven people would go hungry. Fifty-percent of those who access food banks in our community are children and seniors.

Every year during the month of March, Snohomish County employees work together to raise money and nonperishable food to help their neighbors in need.
