2014 Fourth of July celebrations

This year's 4th of July celebrations can be found here: 7 local Puget Sound cities with Fourth of July fireworks shows and events in 2016.

There are a number of ways to celebrate the Fourth of July in 2014. Even though the City of Mill Creek doesn’t have a celebration planned, other local Puget Sound cities do.

Bothell - Join the entire Bothell community for the annual Freedom Festival.

Start the day out with a free pancake breakfast at the downtown firehouse and then watch the children’s parade and Grand Parade along Main Street and Bothell Way (SR 527).

This year’s theme for the 4th of July Parade is “Protecting Our Freedom – Recognizing Those Who Serve.” To support the troops, parade participants and attendees are encouraged to wear yellow ribbons.

  • 8:30-10:30 a.m. - Pancake Breakfast: Downtown Fire Station, 10726 Beardslee Blvd.
  • 11:15 a.m. - Children’s Parade: Line up on Main Street at 103rd. For children up to 12 years.
  • 12:00 p.m. - Grand Parade: Main Street and Bothell Way (SR 527) - 12:00 noon

Bellevue - The largest 4th of July celebration on the Eastside will take place in the Bellevue Downtown Park.

The 23rd annual Bellevue Collection Bellevue Family 4th presented by PACCAR and Puget Sound Energy will kick off at 2:00 p.m. Families and friends can enjoy food, games, live music, and a spectacular fireworks show.

The Bellevue Downtown Park is located one block south of Bellevue Square on the corner of NE 4th Street and Bellevue Way in downtown Bellevue at 10201 NE 4th Street.

Complimentary event parking is offered after 6 p.m. at the Bellevue Collection (Bellevue Square, Lincoln Square and Bellevue Place).

Free parking also is available in the visitors’ lot at Bellevue City Hall (450 110th Avenue NE).

Events:

  • 2:00 p.m. - Bellevue Parks Family Fun Zone opens
  • 9:00 p.m. - Presentation of Colors. Bellevue Fire Department Honor Guard
  • 9:05 p.m. - National Anthem. International School Jazz Choir - "iJazz"
  • 9:30 p.m. - Special Independence Day Performance by Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra
  • 10:05 p.m. - The Eastside's largest and most spectacular fireworks show set to a live performance by Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra
  • 10:30 p.m. - Post-fireworks performance by Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra

Edmonds – Edmonds has events planned for the day and evening, capped with fireworks.

  • 10:00 a.m. - 5K Fun Run/Walk sponsored by Swedish/Edmonds and Sound Women's Care.
  • 11:30 a.m. - Children’s Parade sponsored by Windermere Real Estate – Edmonds.
  • 12:00 p.m. - Main Parade sponsored by Lynnwood Honda.
  • 2:30 p.m. - Edmonds Firefighters Waterball Competition (City Park, 3rd Ave. S & Pine).
  • 7:30 p.m. - Food Vendors & Evening Entertainment (Civic Stadium, 6th & Bell).
  • 10:00 p.m. - Fireworks (Civic Stadium, 6th & Bell).

Everett – Lots of family events planned from early morning to the fireworks finale.

  • 11:00 a.m. - Colors of Freedom Parade - Colby and Wetmore avenues between Wall and 26th streets.
    Bring a lawn chair and grab a front row seat for the best show in town! Watch world class marching bands, dance & drill teams, giant puppets, stilt walkers, clowns and more! Free Everett Transit shuttles from Everett Station.
  • 1:00 p.m. - Colors of Freedom Festival – Legion Memorial Park, 145 Alverson Blvd.
    Enjoy a family picnic on the grassy bluff overlooking Port Gardner Bay. With free kids’ activities, a food fair, live music, and a stunning view of the fireworks over Port Gardner Bay, there's something for everyone. There is no parking available. Catch the free Everett Transit shuttle at the Everett Community College Broadway lot or Everett Station.
  • 10:00 p.m. - Thunder on the Bay Fireworks - Port Gardner Bay. Fireworks begin at 10:20 p.m.
    Viewing at: Legion Park 145 Alverson Blvd. Grand Avenue Park 1800 Grand Ave.

Tune to 1520 AM for a radio simulcast of music to the fireworks. No parking available at Legion Memorial Park on July 4th- take Everett Transit.

Kenmore – The entertainment begins at 8:00 p.m. with the fireworks show at 10:00 p.m.

  • 8:00 p.m. - While waiting for the fireworks show, spectators can enjoy park facilities, music, and other activities.
  • 10:00 p.m. - Celebrate the Fourth of July with a spectacular fireworks show over Lake Washington. The fireworks display blasts off at Log Boom Park.

KirklandFamily events all day from 10:00 a.m. until the fireworks display at 10:15 p.m.

  • 10:00 a.m. - Children's decorating event at the Marina Park Pavilion. Tattoos, flags, and tons of fun for everyone.
  • 11:30 a.m. - Children's walking parade starts at Market and Central.
  • 12:00 p.m. - Old Fashioned Downtown parade starts at Market and Central. Parade will travel in the opposite direction this year.

After the Parade...Join your friends and neighbors at Marina Park

  • 1:00 - 10:30 p.m. - Community Picnic & Food Vendors.
  • 5:00 p.m. - Music in the Pavilion.
  • 10:15 p.m. - Fantastic fireworks display off of Marina Park with viewing from most downtown waterfront parks.

Seattle - Seafair Summer Fourth

Head to Gas Works Park & Lake Union Park to hang out until the fireworks. Both locations are free to the public and also feature reserved seating available for purchase.

Gas Works Park

  • 12:00 p.m. - Gates Open
  • 1:00 p.m. - All-American Games at Live Entertainment Stage
  • 2:00 p.m. - National Guard Band
  • 5:00 p.m. - Seafair Pirates Arrive
  • 6:00 p.m. - Seafair Clowns Arrive
  • 7:30 p.m. - Skydivers Over Lake Washington
  • 10:10 p.m. - National Anthem, Skydivers Over Lake Washington & Fireworks Show
  • 11:00 p.m. - Gates Close

South Lake Union Park

  • 12:00 p.m. - Gates Open
  • 2:00 p.m. - National Guard Band Performance on Live Entertainment Stage
  • 3:00 p.m. - Seafair Clowns Arrive
