By Richard Van Winkle, News of Mill Creek.
The City of Mill Creek and Mill Creek Festival organizers care about the community and want everyone to be aware that roads will be closed making traffic and parking difficult from Friday, August 13th, to Sunday, August 15th.
They would like Mill Creek Festival goers to use the free shuttle or Community Transit's buses to get to the event, and they encourage mask wearing and social distancing at the event.
The following road closures will affect traffic within the City of Mill Creek for the 2021 Mill Creek Festival:
From 9:00 am Friday morning, August 13th, until approximately 11:30 pm on Sunday evening, August 15th:
- Mill Creek Boulevard will be closed from just north of the 164th Street SE and Mill Creek Boulevard intersection to 161st Street SE.
From 4:30 am Saturday morning, August 14th, until approximately 11:30 pm on Sunday evening, August 15th:
- Mill Creek Boulevard will have an additional road closure, from 164th Street SE to 159th Place SE.
- 161st Street SE will be closed to thru traffic between Mill Creek Boulevard and the east entrance to Mill Creek Plaza (Rite-Aid, Safeway parking lot).
These closures will be in place for the duration of the Mill Creek Festival, concluding Sunday, August 15th, at approximately 11:30 pm.
Motorists should expect delays throughout Mill Creek so please plan accordingly.
Community Transit buses and free shuttles will be available for festival attendees.
The community is encouraged to use Community Transit buses or the free shuttle bus to get to the festival due to the number of people anticipated to be in the area over the weekend.
Masks are required onboard all buses in compliance with the federal Transportation Security Administration (TSA) mandate.
Exit the bus at the 153rd Street SE station along the Bothell Everett Highway (SR 527), and walk one block west into the heart of Mill Creek Town Center to access Main Street.
