A Sunday morning, July 9, 2017, car fire closed 35th Avenue SE near Thomas Lake in Mill Creek for about a half hour. There were no injuries.

According to Mill Creek Director of Communications and Marketing Joni Kirk the owner of a Maserati called 911 to report his car was on fire, “Police were dispatched to a car fire at 5:29 am on July 9; the incident was located on 35th Avenue SE between 139th and 141st.”

Mill Creek Police closed 35th Avenue SE in both directions while Fire District 1 firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, making the roadway safe.

Kirk reported, “This was called in by the vehicle’s owner and there is no indication that there were any other passengers. There were no injuries. The roadway was reopened at 6:10 am.”
