Candidate-filing week closed at 4:00 pm on Friday, May 21st, so the Mill Creek City Council races are set and this year’s candidates are getting ready to campaign for the 2021 Election.
City council position 1 attracted just a single candidate, which means incumbent John Steckler can breathe a sigh of relief since he'll run unopposed and won’t have to campaign.
Only Mill Creek City Council candidates for position 6 will take part in the Primary Election, because nonpartisan races with two or fewer contestants aren't on the ballot.
The Primary Election narrows the field by advancing the two candidates with the most votes.
Here are the Mill Creek City Council candidates for each position in order of filing date and time:
Council Position 1 (Four-year full term)
- John Steckler (Incumbent elected in 2019)
Council Position 2 (Four-year full term)
- Stephanie Vignal (Incumbent elected in 2019)
- Nicholas Swett
Council Position 3 (Four-year full term)
- Benjamin Briles (Incumbent appointed by city council in 2020)
- Connie May Allison
Council Position 5 (Four-year full term)
- Brian Holtzclaw (Incumbent first elected in 2013)
- Eric J. Cooke
Council Position 6 (Two-year partial term)
