From a joint City of Mill Creek and Fire District 7 news release.
On Friday, July 14, 2017, the City of Mill Creek and Snohomish County Fire District 7 reached a tentative agreement for a new six-year fire services contract (2017-2022). The tentative agreement encompasses the material economic terms of the new fire services agreement.
“We have been providing fire and emergency medical services to Mill Creek for many years and are pleased to be continuing service to the community,” said Fire Commissioner Randy Fay. “We have enjoyed a strong partnership with the City, and are confident this agreement meets the needs of both organizations.”
“We value the partnership with Fire District 7 and are glad we were able to agree to terms for this new contract,” said City Manager Rebecca Polizzotto. “Ensuring public safety services is one of our top priorities, and we are confident that the City, through its relationship with Fire District 7, will continue to provide top-quality services to our residents, in a fiscally responsible manner.”
Legal counsel for the parties will now draft the contract documents incorporating the terms of the tentative agreement.
The contract will then be presented to Fire District 7’s Board of Commissioners and the Mill Creek City Council for ratification.
