"December delivered Surprises for Mill Creek Garden Club Members!" By Lila Johnson

The once-fresh Noble Fir may be on the compost pile; those shiny ornaments may be safely packed away and perhaps someone in your household is grumbling about how much space Christmas decorations take up in the garage, but our December meeting Raffle Winner is still celebrating her surprise basket win.

The once-fresh Noble Fir may be on the compost pile; those shiny ornaments may be safely packed away and perhaps someone in your household is grumbling about how much space Christmas decorations take up in the garage, but our December 2020 meeting Raffle Winner is still celebrating her surprise basket win. Garden Club members do have fun!

Second VP Connie Hannam graciously donated a lovely Poinsettia arrangement perfect for the holidays. To support a local business during Covid, Connie added a generous gift card to Emory’s on Silver Lake.

Raffle basket winner, Judy Morrier, attended Garden Club’s December zoom meeting and at the end of Riz Reyes’ delightful presentation, Judy’s name turned up on the Wheel!  (Yes, the fedora has been replaced!)  A lucky spin, a great win and anticipation for a date-night dinner out.

The Garden Club Board continued the December surprises by gifting three more members with beautiful raffle baskets perfect for Christmas and the New Year.

Getting that “You’ve Won” phone call were Carol Connelly, Fran Mester and Diana Stearns. Lots of smiles as our ladies received their raffle baskets chock full of wondrous wares.

A heartfelt “Thank You” to our Board members Lyndal, Kathy, Connie, Debby and Stephanie for their dedication, and uplifting spirit.

Garden Club members are in for a treat at the upcoming January Zoom Meeting with the knowledgeable and very humorous Ladd Smith of In Harmony Sustainable Landscapes. He will be speaking about how to make spring gardening easier. That’s quite a chore, but he is sure to make us laugh. And who knows how the Wheel will spin!
