Strong winds knocked down a large tree, blocking Seattle Hill Road and destroying a traffic signal at the intersection of 35th Avenue SE on Monday, November 13, 2017, at about 11:30 am.
Seattle Hill Road traffic was closed in all directions at 35th Avenue SE for a few hours until the tree debris could be cleared from the roadway.
Once the tree was removed, flaggers were able to open Seattle Hill Road for eastbound traffic only.
According to Snohomish County Public Works Supervisor Fay Lim, while crews removed the fallen tree from the roadway, the Public Works Traffic Team began devising a temporary replacement for the downed traffic signal.
The temporary traffic signal became operational at about 5:00 pm and traffic started flowing in all directions through the intersection.
