Family of four displaced by house fire east of Lynnwood

A family of four – two adults and two children – safely escaped a fire that caused heavy damage to their home east of Lynnwood on Monday afternoon, April 9, 2018.

The fire was reported around 4:45 pm on Monday afternoon at a single-story home with a daylight basement in the 1700 block of 198th Street SW south east of Alderwood Mall.

One of the children heard a noise and discovered the fire, then alerted the rest of the family. They safely exited the house.

No one was injured. The fire left the home uninhabitable. Support 7 and the Red Cross responded to assist the family that has been displaced by the fire.

The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating to determine how the fire started.
