Fire District 7 crews extinguish garage fire south of Mill Creek

Snohomish County Fire District 7 crews extinguished a garage fire just south of Mill Creek early on Saturday morning, October 15, 2016. No injuries were reported, but the fire damage is estimated to be approximately $60,000.

Fire District was dispatched to a residential structure fire at the 2300 block of 165th Pl SE in unincorporated Snohomish County south of Mill Creek at 1:58 am Saturday morning, October 15, 2016.

One of the occupants living at the address reported the fire after the smoke alarm warned of a fire in the garage.

Ladder 71 arrived first on the scene and was able to contain the fire to the attached two-car garage. Additional firefighters arrived to continue to extinguish the fire and to look for hot spots.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The loss is estimated to be approximately $60,000.

The American Red Cross was called to assist the displaced family.

There were no injuries reported.
