Snohomish County Fire District 7 will hold a free homeschool lesson on Tuesday, March 31st, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
Join us for our second Facebook Live Homeschool Lesson - Fire Engine Math.
We will review addition, subtraction, multiplication, and measurement concepts as it relates to fighting fires.
Have a piece of paper and a pencil ready so you can participate in the lesson!
Also join us on a virtual tour of a fire engine as one of our firefighters discusses how math applies to fighting a fire!
As the spread of the COVID-19 virus continues to impact our region, all public events, school visits, and station tours have been canceled for the fire district. Like most fire agencies, these are the main ways prevention messages are taught to kids and families.
The fire district is planning to teach an online homeschool lesson each Tuesday on Facebook Live throughout the school closure. The lessons will focus on elementary math and science concepts related to the fire service, as well as safety topics.
Kids and parents can join the lesson, ask firefighters questions, and be “assigned homework” all in an effort to keep kids learning and engaged. Lessons will be posted to the District’s Facebook page.
The lessons will be posted to the Fire District’s website after the live session.
Additional educational resources have been compiled that can be found on the District’s website for parents to use as learning activities while children are out of school.
