Jackson Timberwolves reach State 4A boys basketball finals

The undefeated Jackson High School boys basketball team beat Arlington High School 68-41 in a 4A State semifinal game at the Tacoma Dome on Friday, March 1, 2013.

The Timberwolves advance to the State championship game with Curtis High School at the Tacoma Dome on Saturday, March 2nd at 9:00 PM.

David Krueger of the Everett Herald reports, “Jason Todd scored 20 points and Dan Kingma added 19 to help lead the Jackson High School boys basketball team to a 68-41 victory over Arlington on Friday in the 4A state semifinals.”

“The win puts Jackson in the state championship for the second time in three years. The Timberwolves were the runners-up in 2010.”

“Jackson jumped out to a big lead early, outscoring the Eagles 25-9 in the second quarter. The Timberwolves shot 53 percent from the field (24-of-45) in the game and 50 percent (9-of-18) from beyond the 3-point arc.”

“Brian Zehr, who like Todd and Kingma is a junior, recorded a double-double for Jackson with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Timberwolves are 26-0 as they prepare to face Curtis (26-2) for the 4A state championship at 9 p.m. Saturday.”
