Mill Creek’s “Kindness Wall” is intended to bring acts of kindness to the community, but since we are all social distancing, we share our Kindness Wall with you – virtually.
This week’s act of kindness!
Here we go 2021! There are times and events in society and in our lives that we use as jumping off points to start fresh. The New Year is certainly one of those times! With all the challenges that 2020 brought, we are all ready to start something fresh.
Now, the beginning of 2021 is seeming a lot like how 2020 ended; COVID, social equity and politics still dominate the news cycle. The horrifying display we all witnessed at our Nation’s Capitol will forever be rooted in our memories. But there is reason for optimism and hope!
Political headlines will be winding down as we proceed through the month; there is a vaccination on the horizon (or closer than that!); and our society’s awareness of equity issues will bring about positive change.
This time of year, resolutions abound. Losing weight; being healthier; being a better partner; goal-setting at work; and so many more.
This year though, consider adding “Be kinder” to your list of resolutions. This doesn’t require weigh-ins, financial investments or longer hours at work…you just need to consciously take the time to be kind!
Like all resolutions, let’s start this one off BIG! To kick-start your 2021 kindness resolution, make your acts a week-long event!
We’re all looking to make this year better than the last. At the root of humanity is kindness. Let’s strengthen our foundations and rejuvenate our souls by taking on this challenge. Start kindness strong, keep it going throughout the good times and tough times, and make it part of your everyday life! If we all work together, we can overcome any challenge thrown our way!
The mission of the Kiwanis of Mill Creek is to empower our members to improve our community by making lasting differences in the lives of children. This starts with kindness.
We would love to hear about how you were able to take this simple act of kindness and make a difference! Please share in the reader comments section here and on your social media pages. You can find us on Facebook.
The Kiwanis of Mill Creek meets the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 6:00 pm. While we are under Covid-19 restrictions, our meetings are held via Zoom.
Once we can again gather, our meetings are held at the Mill Creek City Council Chambers, 15728 Main Street, Mill Creek WA.
If you are interested in attending a Zoom meeting, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
