An attempted theft of the Banner Bank ATM on Main Street in the Mill Creek Town Center early Saturday morning, March 10, 2018, caused significant damage, but nothing was stolen.

Apparently, the perpetrators ripped off the ATM’s exterior and tried to push the machine into the building to gain access to the ATM’s vault.

Nothing was stolen according to workmen who were at the scene mid-morning on Saturday. This was confirmed by City of Mill Creek spokesperson Joni Kirk, who texted, “The ATM vault was not compromised.”

The workmen commented that it was unclear how the ATM’s exterior was ripped off, and there were no tire marks in front of the machine indicating that a vehicle was used.

A representative for the ATM’s manufacturer, Diebold, was on site Saturday morning to assess the damage.

According to Kirk, the Mill Creek Police have no leads at this time.
