On June 4, 2020, the Mill Creek Chamber of Commerce announced they have awarded college scholarships worth $2,000 each to six local high school students.
Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Chairman Michael LaMarche said in an email, “This year there were 20 applicants, each with outstanding scholastic and extracurricular accomplishments. Therefore, selecting the most deserving was not an easy task for the scholarship committee.”
Here are this year’s recipients and the high school that they attended:
Jackson High School
- Lauren Aguilar.
- Ethan Thong.
- Sai Raksha Rayaia.
- Chanwook Park.
- Regan Mclarin.
Cascade High School
- Jaxon Roberts.
In order to be eligible for the scholarships, this year’s applicants needed to comply with the following criteria:
- Live in Mill Creek and/or attend school at either Cascade High School, Jackson High School, or Archbishop Murphy, and be a senior in good standing at the time of application.
- Be accepted to attend a full-time accredited College, University, or Fine Arts School.
- Be planning an academic course of study in the field of their choice, but plan to pursue a career in business.
Since its very beginnings, the Mill Creek Chamber of Commerce has been committed to encouraging and assisting local high school students in their pursuit of higher learning in business or a field in which they would like to pursue a career in business.
