The Mill Creek City Council hope to fill Sean Kelly’s vacant council seat at their regular Tuesday, February 6, 2018, meeting.
Since 16 applicants have submitted written applications to express their interest in the position, the meeting will start at 5:00 pm, an hour earlier than usual.
The only agenda item for the meeting is the City Council Appointment.
The Mill Creek City Council will conduct initial ten-minute interviews of the following applicants in alphabetical order:
1. David Chapin
2. Brad Craig
3. Melissa Duque
4. Joyce Eleanor
5. Carmen Fisher
6. Sandra Harris
7. Tyler Hogan
8. Drew Lippman
9. Herbie Martin
10. Ross Maynard
11. Mark Oostra
12. Luis Perry
13. John Steckler
14. Dennis Teschlog
15. Maija Tuomi
16. Stephanie Vignal
City Manager Rebecca Polizzotto recommended that city councilmembers adjourn to a closed executive session after the initial interviews to evaluate the applicants’ qualifications.
After the executive session the city council will reconvene to a public session to nominate applicants to the finalist round, which may or may not involve further interviews.
Depending on the number of finalists, a series of votes by councilmembers will decide who will be appointed to the vacant seat.
The successful applicant will be sworn into office immediately.
Each of the candidates’ application materials are part of the public record and can be found on the City of Mill Creek’s website here: Vacant Council Seat.
