Mill Creek City Councilmembers John Steckler and Stephanie Vignal take oath of office

Newly elected Mill Creek City Councilmembers John Steckler and Stephanie Vignal were administered their oaths of office by Mayor Pam Pruitt at the November 26, 2019, city council meeting.

Their appointments to the city council ended when they won their respective elections this month and their new terms of office run until December 31, 2021.

Appointed to the city council in February 2018, Steckler has lived in Mill Creek since 1996 and has been active in community organizations. He is a charter and board member of the new Mill Creek Kiwanis Club and has belonged to the Rotary Club for over 20 years.

Steckler has also volunteered his time to the local schools his two sons attended: Mill Creek Elementary School, Heatherwood Middle School, and Jackson High School.

A career sales, marketing, and operations executive working in a number of industries, Steckler now is now working from home as an independent consultant providing strategic planning and marketing services to small and mid-size companies.

Appointed to the city council in February 2019, Vignal moved to Mill Creek four years ago with her husband and young daughter. 

According to a City of Mill Creek news release, "... she has been civically engaged, including having served as a member of the Park and Recreation Board. She is passionate about helping the city develop economic prosperity while careful balancing it with long-term planning that underscores a livable community." 

"She holds a degree in business administration from Gardner-Webb University. Prior to her position as a councilmember, she worked as a property manager."
