It takes more than lovely gardens, willing homeowners, crafty artisans, generous sponsors, gracious news sources (like the News of Mill Creek) and an enthusiastic local Garden Club to present a successful Tour—it takes YOU to buy the tickets and show up on Tour Day.
It all came together for a Sold-Out garden tour on a wonderfully pleasant, sunny day with about 450 of YOU, our special guests, meandering through the six featured gardens. Your support of our only public fundraiser allows us to give back through our “Giving through Gardening” Grants.
Mill Creek Garden Club invites you to submit a Grant Application. To apply for a community-based, garden-related, civic-beautifying or horticulturally sound Grant, go to millcreekgardenclub.com and click on “Contact” and choose “Giving through Gardening.” Tell us about your project!
Sold out, why not print more tickets? That question was asked. Garden Club wishes to be respectful of our homeowners’ gardens; 450 seems a manageable number in most yards. The Club also wishes to be considerate of our neighborhoods, where homes are close together and parking is limited, especially because of the tour’s five-hour duration. Thanks for asking!
Take the Plunge! If you have an interesting garden and wish to have it considered for the Tour, contact the Club today. A tour-worthy garden may have a notable collection of plants, trees, or shrubs; it may illustrate how to overcome a topography challenge; or it has a magical park-like setting for your kids’ play area; or it has a pollinator garden and a patio from which to enjoy the butterflies, bees and some hummingbirds too and it is loved and cared for!
For information and to apply for our June 2019 Garden Tour, go to millcreekgardenclub.com and find Garden Tour in the upper left corner, then click on Garden Tour Application. Easy peasy! Apply today to have someone from our Tour committee see your yard before the autumn rains arrive
Mill Creek Garden Club thanks everyone for the high-fives, garden compliments, yard art purchases and support of our sponsors. And a special Bravo to Tour Chair Julie Jacobson and her hardworking MCGC committee members.
What can I say, we have a great group of women in our garden club and they rocked those colorful garden aprons too!
p.s. If you missed out, remember next year to “Buy your Tickets early.”
