Mill Creek Little League Softball All Stars win first Western Regional Championship game

The Mill Creek Little League Softball 12U Softball All Stars beat Hawaii 11 to 3 in their first Western Regional Championship game in San Bernardino on Saturday, July 22, 2017.

The Mill Creek 12-year-olds scored one run in the first inning and never relinquished the lead.

After Mill Creek tacked on another four runs in the third inning, Hawaii’s offense came alive when they came back to score one run in the fourth and two runs in the fifth.

Mill Creek’s big six-run sixth inning put the game out of reach for Hawaii.

Symone Williams earned the win for Mill Creek, lasting six innings while giving up seven hits and striking out ten batters. She threw 18 first pitch strikes in Saturday’s outing.

Mill Creek’s Marcie Dean, Alexis Sicairos, and Kalia Zellmer each had multiple hits in the game. The team had a total of 11 hits with no fielding errors.

Mill Creek’s next game is against Montana on Monday, July 24th, at 7:30 pm.

Hawaii beat Montana 9 to 2 on Friday, July 21st.
