Mill Creek Police Chief Jeff Young takes Oath of Office

New Mill Creek Police Chief Jeff Young started work after on Monday morning, December 7th. City Manager Michael Ciaravino adminstered the Oath of Office and presented him with the Police Chief Badge.

At their regular December 8, 2020, meeting City Manager Michael Ciaravino informed the city council that he adminstered new Mill Creek Police Chief Jeff Young his Oath of Office on Monday morning, December 7th.

Ciaravino said, “Chief Jeff Young was sworn in at 06:00 hours on Monday morning as a shift was coming off of their duty and was relieved by a new shift coming on. I had the honor and privilege of administering the oath of office to Chief Young and presented him with the Police Chief Badge."

In an December 4th press release Ciaravino stated, “Chief Young’s education and background in law enforcement are very impressive. He is an innovative law enforcement professional with a proven track record and many notable accomplishments."

Young came to Mill Creek from Phoenix, Arizona, after a nation-wide search.

“I will be dedicated to maintaining an engaged, cohesive team environment in the Mill Creek Police Department; this will take communication, achievable goals, vision, and empowerment of our teams," said Young.

He went on to say, "As the new Chief of Police, it will be my responsibility to ensure that a high functioning environment is fostered through open communication and encouragement of innovative ideas and solutions, including the appropriate training, equipment and resources to ensure the Mill Creek Police Department’s success.”
