October is Teen Read Month at the Mill Creek Library and students are encouraged to read for the fun of it. There are a number of events and activities scheduled.

The Annual 2-D Teen Art Contest will run through October 31, 2013. This year’s theme is “Seek the Unknown.” Teens can download the entry form from the library’s website (http://www.sno-isle.org/?ID=6365) or pick it up from a library after October 1st.

Four contest winners will each be awarded a $50 gift card from Amazon.

Once again, the Mill Creek Library and Mill Creek Parks and Recreation Department are teaming up to host the Third Annual Halloween Party for Teens at the Mill Creek Library.

The Halloween Party will take place on Friday, October 18th from 7-9 p.m. Teens in grades 6th- 12th are invited to play Minute to Win It and board games, enjoy light refreshments, make Halloween crafts and participate in a costume contest. Bonus: teens can check out scary mysteries and thrillers from the “Horror-ible Books” display.

Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes and door prizes will be handed out. The prizes are funded by the Friends of the Mill Creek Library.

Space is limited and everyone must preregister on the library website or at the Mill Creek Library.

On Saturday, October 19th from 11-12, teens (and parents) can join in thought provoking conversations about great new books and grow their enthusiasm for reading with other book lovers during Teen Book Brunch.

Everyone should be prepared to talk about a book they loved.

Enjoy Top Pot donuts and free copies of soon to be released books! Teen Book Brunch is held at the University Book Store in Mill Creek Town Center.

The Mill Creek Library is located at 15429 Bothell-Everett Highway across the street from Central Market.
