The Mill Creek Hearing Examiner will conduct a public hearing to review the Arena Sports indoor recreational complex development proposal on Wednesday evening, January 25, 2017.
The meeting will be held in City Hall South at 6:00 pm.
Mill Creek’s Hearing Examiner will take verbal and written testimony from concerned members of the public and the developer will present a detailed overview of the project.
According to Mill Creek’s Municipal Code, the hearing examiner decides whether or not the proposed development conforms to the city’s regulations.
The proposed 96,370 square foot indoor recreational complex on almost seven acres near the intersection of Dumas Road and Bothell-Everett Highway includes two soccer fields, a warm-up field, eight bowling lanes, laser tag, bumper cars, an inflatable play area, a rock-climbing tower, party rooms, kitchen and dining areas along with storage and administrative offices.
This will be the fifth and largest recreational complex for Arena Sports, a Bellevue based company. The company expects over one million visits to the Mill Creek facility annually.
“This will be fun and entertainment for the entire family,” said Don Crowe, Arena Sports Chief Executive Officer.
“Of course we’ll have a full slate of youth and adult soccer leagues and our popular children’s programming including Lil’ Kickers, Skills Institute and sports camps, and we’re adding an entire family entertainment center that we hope will be the go-to destination for parties, special events, team building and more.”
While the company considered other locations, Mill Creek topped the list from the start with its growing family population and strong participation in youth sports as well as adult sporting activities.
“City leaders have a clear, forward-looking vision for Mill Creek as a vibrant, family-friendly community with a strong commitment to the quality of life of its citizens,” continued Crowe.
“It’s been a pleasure working with city staff on the planning and development of Arena Sports and Entertainment, which we believe will be the perfect complement to the community and a hub for family fun.”
“We are committed to delivering diverse and much-needed activities, services and job opportunities to create a community where our residents can enjoyably and easily live, work and play,” said Mill Creek City Manager Rebecca Polizzotto.
“Arena Sports and Entertainment will employ more than 200 people, both part time and full time. As we continue to build a strong community, we are excited to work with the company to develop this new facility for people to work, play and gather.”
