Pursuit of reportedly stolen vehicle ends in single-car collision and driver’s death east of Mill Creek

Detectives with the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team are looking for anyone who may have witnessed the fatal collision that occurred at the intersection of SR9 and Cathcart Way around 9 pm on Monday, September 7th.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Detective Charles Sletten at (360) 654-1144.

A pursuit of a reportedly stolen vehicle ended in the driver’s death in a single car collision at the intersection of SR9 and Cathcart Way on Monday, September 7, 2015.

The incident began at about 9 pm when a vehicle was reported stolen from the 14600 block of 58th Drive SE in unincorporated Everett.

Responding deputies from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office located the 1994 BMW sedan traveling eastbound on Cathcart Way.

Sheriff’s deputies and a Mill Creek police officer pursued the vehicle, which travelled across SR9 and off the roadway.

The vehicle caught fire and, despite attempts to rescue the 18 year old Everett driver, he died at the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

The incident will be investigated by the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team.
