Sheriff’s Office deputies arrest suspect in Snohomish car fire

Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a 35 year-old Lake Stevens man on Monday, December 31, 2018, following a car fire in the 11700 block of 92nd Street SE, east of Snohomish.

Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a 35 year-old Lake Stevens man on Monday, December 31, 2018, following a car fire in the 11700 block of 92nd Street SE, east of Snohomish.

Witnesses called 911 around 11:00 am, with reports of seeing a vehicle on fire.

They reported the suspect had lit his own vehicle on fire.

The flames spread to another unoccupied vehicle parked nearby.

The suspect fled the scene in a different vehicle and ditched it nearby before fleeing on foot.

A K9 team responded to the scene and around 12:30 pm and subsequently located the suspect in the 12400 block of 92nd Street SE, east of Snohomish.

The suspect was taken into custody and booked into Snohomish County jail for first-degree reckless burning, malicious mischief, and resisting arrest.

There were no injuries as a result of the fire. The Fire Marshal’s Office has not determined the cause of the fire and is continuing to investigate.
