Fire District 7 crews extinguish house fire near 35th Avenue SE

Fire District 7 was dispatched to a report of a residential fire at the 4800 block of 147th Pl SE at 5:13 pm on Tuesday, October 4th, 2016.

When crews arrived they found the family outside and an odor of smoke but no smoke visible.

Upon further investigation, command found heavy smoke venting from an upstairs window on the backside of the house.

Firefighters quickly hooked up to a hydrant and entered the home to perform a primary search.

Crews gained control of the fire quickly then continued to work to check for fire extension.

Crews performed salvage of some personal items for the homeowner and assistance from the Red Cross was offered.

The fire started in the kitchen. No injuries were reported.
