From a Snohomish County Fire District 7 news release.
Firefighters and staff at Snohomish County Fire District 7 helped support fifteen local families this holiday season. Each of Fire District 7’s fire stations adopted two to three families in need; buying them holiday gifts they wouldn’t otherwise be able to give their children.
“We were thrilled to be able to provide so many gifts for families in our own community. We love being able to help our own neighbors every year,” explained Lieutenant Joe Basta, who organizes the annual gift drive.
Fire District 7 fire stations are also drop-off sites for the Maltby Food Bank.

Snohomish County Fire District 7 supports a population of about 50,000 citizens in a fifty square mile area and was officially established in 1946.
In addition to fire fighting services, they provide ambulance transport to all citizens within the fire district and the city of Mill Creek.
Firefighters and their families came together to wrap the gifts and took a quick break for a photo with just a few of the presents. Left to right: Lieutenant Jeff Larsen, Firefighter Erik Emerson, Firefighter Matt Ball, Fire Chief Gary Meek and Lieutenant Joe Basta.
