Snohomish County launched another online survey/open house on October 31, 2018, to inform the public about possible station locations and to get feedback that will help in the final selection process. The open house focuses on stations to be located near I-5 and 128th Street SE (Mariner Park & Ride), and near I-5 and 164th Street SE (Ash Way Park & Ride).

Sound Transit has undertaken two expansion phases in the last ten years. Sound Transit 2 was passed by voters in 2008 and Sound Transit 3 was passed by voters in 2016.

Sound Transit 2 projects include expansion of light rail service from Northgate to Lynnwood, which is scheduled to be in service by 2024.

The light rail projects in Sound Transit 3 will extend service from Lynnwood to Everett and is scheduled to be in service by 2036.

“This is a unique opportunity to listen to Snohomish County residents as we plan for the arrival of light rail, a transformative improvement to how people move though our region. We are leveraging major transportation investments from Sound Transit 2 and Sound Transit 3 to benefit the community,” said Dave Somers, Snohomish County Executive.

He went on to say, “This second online open house gives everyone a chance to offer their perspective on potential station locations and impacts to neighborhoods, including housing, transportation, development, and jobs.”

Visit the online open house webpage to:

  • Learn about the project background, purpose and timeline.
  • Understand what criteria the county is using to evaluate possible station locations.
  • Review the three possible station locations for each station area (Mariner and Ash Way).
  • Answer questions about the preferred location for each station area during the open house from October 31st to November 30th, 2018.
