Snohomish County Sheriff’s detectives arrested two Marysville suspects, a 59-year-old man and a 54-year old woman, in connection to the Thursday, May 25, 2017, murder of a south Everett woman.
According to Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Lt. AJ Bryant, “The man was booked for 1st degree murder and the woman was booked for 1st degree rendering criminal assistance.”
“They were arrested after detectives learned that on May 25th, the victim caught the male attempting to burglarize the home. He is suspected of killing her then attempting to conceal her body in her room at her residence in the 12000 block of 4th Ave W. The victim's roommate found her body early Tuesday morning (May 30th) and called police.”
The Tuesday, May 30th, discovery of the 50-year-old murdered woman’s body at a residence near Mariner High School was first reported by Sheriff’s Office Director of Communications Shari Ireton.
Ireton wrote in an email, ”The woman’s roommate called 911 around 1:20 am to report finding her deceased. Based on evidence at the scene, detectives believe her death to be suspicious.”
According to Ireton the murdered woman’s car was located in Marysville on Tuesday afternoon at which time the 59-year old male suspect was detained for questioning.
The arrests were made on Tuesday evening after detectives collected evidence at the crime scene and conducted interviews of the victim’s roommate and suspects.
