From a September 3, 2021, South County Fire and Rescue post.
No one was injured in a two-alarm house fire that heavily damaged a two-story house in the Silver Firs neighborhood on Friday morning, September 3rd.
The fire was reported at 9:06 am by the resident after he safely exited the house. A large column of black smoke from the fire could be seen by approaching firefighters and motorists as far away as I-5 in Everett.
Fire crews initially entered the house to fight the fire, but they moved the attack outside when flames in the attic made the structure unstable.
After firefighters withdrew, the roof caved in. It took about 50 minutes for crews to get the fire under control.
South County Fire received assistance from the Everett Fire Department and Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue. More than 40 firefighters were on scene at the peak of the fire.
There was heavy fire and smoke damage throughout the house. Red Cross is assisting the one resident displaced by the fire.
The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
