The Run will take place at Heatherwood Middle School Track and Field, 1419 Trillium Blvd. SE, Mill Creek, WA 98012.

Children ages 3 years through 5th grade are invited to participate in three age-appropriate run/walks starting at 10:00 a.m.

Check-in is at 9:00 a.m.

Bill Iffrig to be honorary starter for the Run of the Mill 5k in support of Boston marathon victims

Bill Iffrig of Lake Stevens, local Boston Marathon hero who was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated, will be running in the Run of the Mill 5K and will be the 2013 Honorary Starter on Saturday, July 6, 2013 in the Mill Creek Town Center.

Edmonds Community College Foundation 2013 golf tournament at Seattle Golf Club, to support education

The Edmonds Community College Foundation announces its 23rd Annual Golf Classic, to be held September 23, 2013 at the Seattle Golf Club — one of the Pacific Northwest’s most prestigious courses.

The Edmonds Community College Foundation announces its 23rd Annual Golf Classic, to be held September 23, 2013 at the Seattle Golf Club — one of the Pacific Northwest’s most prestigious courses.

Last year, the tournament raised more than $58,000, providing vital support to the college.

Starting time is 1 p.m. at the Seattle Golf Club, 210 NW 145th St., Seattle.

The $350 per person cost includes dinner. A VIP foursome for $1,900 includes a recognition package and additional drink tickets. Prices increase after July 8.

In an effort to reduce waste and cleanup after the race, the 2013 Run of the Mill 5K has partnered with the industry-leading software platform, Virtual Race Bags® to provide their registered racers with a digital race bag chock full of goodies.

This is being done to eliminate unnecessary waste from plastic bags full of paper, and to provide a more effective way for local businesses to provide the registered racers with their coupons and offers.

West Coast Aquatics hold Swim-a-Thon to raise funds for facility improvements

On Saturday, May 4, 2013 the swimmers of the WEST Coast Aquatics swim team in Mill Creek will be holding an official Swim-a-Thon to raise funds to support their facility.

On Saturday, May 4, 2013 the swimmers of the WEST Coast Aquatics swim team in Mill Creek will be holding an official Swim-a-Thon.

During the Swim-a-Thon, these competitive swimmers, who range in age from 7 to 17, will swim for 2 hours or up to 200 lengths of their pool, that's 3 miles! And they hope to raise $50,000.00!

Swim-A-Thon is a nationwide program, with 5% of the money raised going to support national swimming programs, such as Make a Splash, through the USA Swimming Foundation.

The 28th Annual Run of the Mill 5K will be held in the Mill Creek Town Center on Saturday, July 6th, 2013.

The Run of the Mill 5K is a community charity event presented by Title Sponsor and organizer Steve Knox of Columbia Funding Mortgage. The Run of the Mill 5k has been an annual event in Mill Creek for twenty-eight years. This is the longest continuously active event in Mill Creek.

Since the Run of the Mill became a charity event in 2006, over $190,000 has been donated to cancer charities, scholarships, and local high school running and swim teams.

Pre-Registration will be open April 1st at www.mcrunofthemill.com and will be limited to 2000 participants.
