Jackson High School’s new all-weather track dedicated

Everett Public Schools and City of Mill Creek officials dedicated the Timberwolves’ new all-weather track on Saturday, March 16, 2013.

The days of running through and around mud puddles are over for the Jackson High School track team. Everett Public Schools and City of Mill Creek officials dedicated the Timberwolves’ new all-weather track on Saturday, March 16, 2013.

Although the construction of the new track was completed in time for last fall’s cross-country season, the dedication ceremony was saved for the beginning of the track season.

High school softball – Eastlake 6, Jackson 1

Eastlake High School defeated Jackson High School 6-1 at Eastlake High School in a 4A cross-conference game at Eastlake High School on Monday, March 11, 2013. This was the opening game for the season for both teams.

The Everett Herald reports, “Sophia Frost struck out five and allowed one earned run, but four costly errors in the fourth led to an Eastlake win. Offensively the Timberwolves were led by Kayla Ellis' double and Jessica Roy's solo home run.”

High school baseball: Burlington-Edison 5, Archbishop Murphy 2

Burlington-Edison High School defeated Archbishop Murphy High School 5-2 in a 2A cross conference game at Archbishop-Murphy High School on Saturday, March 9, 2013.

The Everett Herald reports, “Camden Buchanan drove in two runs, but defending 2A state champion Archbishop Murphy dropped its season opener to Burlington-Edison. Zander Clouse added two hits for the Wildcats.”

The Everett Herald reports, “Jason Todd scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Jackson over Central Valley in a quarterfinal game of the 4A boys basketball state tournament on Thursday afternoon at Tacoma Dome.”
