City of Mill Creek awards college scholarship to Archbishop Murphy High School student Mackenzie Ryan

The Mill Creek City Council selected Archbishop Murphy High School student Mackenzie Ryan as the city's nominee for one of six Association of Washington Cities college scholarships to be awarded this year. She also received a $500 scholarship from the city.

Archbishop Murphy High School student Abigail Brandt receives multiple college scholarships

Archbishop Murphy Senior Abigail Brandt’s achievements earned her multiple scholarships to pursue her goal to become a pediatrician. In addition to receiving $2,000 from the Providence General Children’s Association, she was awarded a $1,000 Association of Washington Cities scholarship, and $500 from the City of Mill Creek.

Community Prom Fair for local high school students

The Mill Creek Youth Advisory Board members, sponsored by Mill Creek Parks & Recreation, and the Jackson High School ASB are hosting the first Community Prom Fair for local high school students.

The Mill Creek Youth Advisory Board members, sponsored by Mill Creek Parks & Recreation, and the Jackson High School ASB are hosting the first Community Prom Fair for local high school students on April 23, 2013.

Consignment prom dresses are available for a suggested donation of $10 or bring a semi-formal or formal dress to exchange for another dress.

Gift certificates will be raffled off to students who attend the fair.

Students must bring their current school ID card to attend event.

High school baseball: Burlington-Edison 5, Archbishop Murphy 2

Burlington-Edison High School defeated Archbishop Murphy High School 5-2 in a 2A cross conference game at Archbishop-Murphy High School on Saturday, March 9, 2013.

The Everett Herald reports, “Camden Buchanan drove in two runs, but defending 2A state champion Archbishop Murphy dropped its season opener to Burlington-Edison. Zander Clouse added two hits for the Wildcats.”

High school girls basketball tournament – Cedarcrest 56, Archbishop Murphy 50

The Cedarcrest High School girls basketball team won second place in 2A District 1/2 tournament by beating Archbishop Murphy High School 56-50 at Mount Vernon High School on Monday, February 18, 2013. Archbishop Murphy High school ended up with third place in the tournament.

Both teams advance to regional play on Friday, February 22, 2013.

The Archbishop Murphy High School girls basketball team beat Sehome High School in a 2A District 1/2 tournament loser-out game at Mount Vernon High School on Saturday, February 16, 2013. The win ensures the Wildcats at least third place in the district tournament and a chance to win second place.

The Sultan High School boys basketball team edged Archbishop Murphy High School 68-62 in a 2A District 1/2 Tournament loser-out game at Archbishop Murphy High School on Monday, February 11, 2013.

The Everett Herald reports, “Brock VandenEkart scored 26 points as Sultan rallied to beat Archbishop Murphy 68-62 in a loser-out game to advance to the consolation semifinals of the 2A District 1/2 Boys Basketball Tournament on Monday.”
