The Snohomish County Courthouse is being evacuated after Sheriff’s Office employees saw a man armed with a knife and crowbar around 9 am.

The Snohomish County Courthouse in Everett was evacuated after Sheriff’s Office employees saw a man armed with a knife and crowbar around 9 am on Sunday, May 24th.

The 25-year-old male suspect was located in the 1500 block of 38th Street in Everett at about 11:15 am and is in custody. A knife was located near him when he was arrested.

Whittier Elementary School teacher Jennifer Nonisa earns awards for continuing good work

Jennifer Nonisa, a combined third- and fourth-grade teacher at Whittier Elementary School, was surprised when she received the award recognizing her community service work in the county, particularly with youth.

However, it was no surprise to her co-workers at Whittier. “You are amazing!” said Marci Cooper, office manager at Whittier. “Congratulations to you Jen! Very much deserved.”

The Washington State Patrol Criminal Investigation Division (C.I.D.) is investigating a fatality collision involving a 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray that took place on October 10, 2014.

The Washington State Patrol Criminal Investigation Division (C.I.D.) is investigating a fatality collision involving a 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray that took place on October 10, 2014.

The collision occurred at 1:25 PM on northbound I-5 at milepost 189, adjacent to the Everett Mall.

Everett Public Schools to host sessions to help the community cope and heal after school violence

On Wednesday, November 4, 2014, Everett Public Schools is hosting one two-hour sessions with Cheri Lovre, Director of Crisis Management Institute.

Elderly woman's car found in Snohomish County

The Everett Police Department is seeking the public’s help to locate 89 year-old Ethyl O’Neil who has been missing since Wednesday afternoon, July 16th, after a trip to the Everett Mall.

August 12, 2014, update.

Aaron Snell, Everett Police Department Public Information Officer, reported that Ethel O’Neil’s blue 1987 Chevy Nova was found by a Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office helicopter this afternoon.

“At approximately 3:15 pm this afternoon, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office’ helicopter rescue team located the vehicle belonging to 89 year-old Ethel O’Neil who has been missing since July 16.” 

“The flight crew investigated and found the occupant inside the vehicle to be deceased.”

“At this time, there is no identity of the occupant. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will take custody of the body to make identification and notify family as well as establish cause and manner of death.”
