Firefighters and civic groups organizing clothing drive to fund purchase of emergency medical equipment

The Everett Fire Department, Everett Medic One Foundation, and the Nick of Time Foundation are partnering with Clothes for the Cause for an event to raise money to purchase AEDs for all Everett School District high schools and middle schools.

Do something great in Mill Creek this summer - host families needed for Chinese students

From July 17th to 30th, or from August 4th to 16th, host families in our area will welcome 60 Chinese EHP students, ages 10 to 13 all eager to visit and experience the American way of life.

Educational Homestay Programs is looking for awesome families in the Mill Creek/Everett area who are ready to welcome young Chinese students into their home for two weeks this summer.

Snohomish County Courthouse evacuated after armed man breaks in

The Snohomish County Courthouse is being evacuated after Sheriff’s Office employees saw a man armed with a knife and crowbar around 9 am.

The Snohomish County Courthouse in Everett was evacuated after Sheriff’s Office employees saw a man armed with a knife and crowbar around 9 am on Sunday, May 24th.

The 25-year-old male suspect was located in the 1500 block of 38th Street in Everett at about 11:15 am and is in custody. A knife was located near him when he was arrested.

Whittier Elementary School teacher Jennifer Nonisa earns awards for continuing good work

Jennifer Nonisa, a combined third- and fourth-grade teacher at Whittier Elementary School, was surprised when she received the award recognizing her community service work in the county, particularly with youth.

However, it was no surprise to her co-workers at Whittier. “You are amazing!” said Marci Cooper, office manager at Whittier. “Congratulations to you Jen! Very much deserved.” 

New Haggen Northwest Fresh grocery stores looking for local partners
