The Snohomish County Auto Theft Task Force served a search warrant on a suspected “chop shop” operation in Marysville and took a 29 year-old male suspect into custody on Wednesday, September 17, 2014.

Detectives found three stolen vehicles, several dismantled vehicles, and numerous vehicle parts at the 3100 block of 87th Ave NE.

Detectives had been at the location previously that day to serve the suspect for failure to appear in court on previous vehicle theft charges.

Stolen vehicles and parts have been recovered from this address on two other occasions in 2013.

The suspect, who lives at the address, was booked in Marysville Jail on theft of a motor vehicle, illegal wrecking yard, and outstanding warrants.

The Snohomish County Auto Theft Task Force (SNOCAT) is a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement task force that works to reduce auto theft, recover of stolen vehicles, and increase the arrest and prosecution of auto theft suspects.
