From a May 29, 2021, City of Mill Creek press release.

The City of Mill Creek is recognizing all graduating seniors in the Mill Creek community by organizing a graduation parade procession at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 12, 2021.

The parade is a way to celebrate graduating students during this difficult year and to acknowledge their ability to overcome various obstacles caused by the pandemic.

The parade is limited to 250 cars for graduating seniors in the Mill Creek area who register in advance.

The parade route is approximately seven miles long and begins at Jackson High School, 1508 136th Street SE, in Mill Creek.

The route will end at the intersection of Mill Creek Boulevard and Bothell-Everett Highway (SR 527).

Residents and motorists should expect traffic delays on the parade route. Motorists are advised to yield to emergency vehicles.

Seniors are encouraged to decorate their vehicles for the parade with balloons, glass chalk or window paint, poster boards, etc.

Community members are asked to cheer on the students as they drive by and to decorate their homes.

Home window signs are available on the city’s website for community members to print and display at their homes.

Signs will include various school crests, and offer an easy way for our residents to show support for our graduates.

The City of Mill Creek recommends a parent, or a non-graduating student, drive the vehicle so graduates may participate in waving and enjoy the parade route as a passenger. Students are welcome to carpool together and follow COVID-19 safety guidelines.

Assembly takes place at 9:00 am in the Jackson High School parking lot and the procession begins at 10:00 am.

Participating vehicles must register at www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0f4dacab29aafc1-20211.

All participants and drivers in the parade must complete a waiver and review safety protocols.

Additional information about the parade check-in, course map and participant waivers is available at www.cityofmillcreek.com/gradparade.
