The grand opening ceremony for Mill Creek’s new food bank will be held at Jackson High School on Thursday, April 19, 2012. The food bank was open for business following the ceremony.
The new food bank initiative came from Jackson High School students after last year's very successful holiday food drive. The students took their food bank idea to Judi Montgomery, Jackson High School's Activities Director, who then sprang to action.
Montgomery brought together representatives from the Jackson High School student body, the Everett School District, the Rotary Club of Mill Creek, the Mill Creek Business Association, the City of Mill Creek, and the Volunteers of America Everett Food Bank to make the students’ idea a reality.
The Volunteers of America Everett Food bank feeds 3,000 households each month. 50% of the people fed are children and 20% are seniors.
Donations of canned and dry goods can be dropped off all year long at:

Hours: M-F 8-6 pm, Sat. 12-5 pm
The Mill Creek Food Bank will be open at Jackson High School from 5:30-7:30 PM every other Thursday.
Food bank clients need to provide:
1. Picture identification/passport
2. Proof of residence in Everett School District with current address/date (recent PUD, water, phone bill not older then 30 days)
3. Proof of children (birth certificate or shot record)
