Mill Creek Women’s Club begins 38th year with in-person luncheon

The MCWC met for the first time in over a year on September 15, 2021, at the Hilton Garden Inn. This is our 38th year. The COVID 19 protocol was strictly followed and it was wonderful to see everyone again after so long a period.

The MCWC met for the first time in over a year on September 15, 2021, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Canyon Park. This is our 38th year. The COVID 19 protocol was strictly followed and it was wonderful to see everyone again after so long a period.

We are requiring all those who wish to attend our luncheons or other indoor social events to be fully vaccinated. What a great luncheon it was with 60 members in attendance.

Introduction of the new board and committee chairs was made and a heartfelt goodbye to the retiring officers and board members recognizing them for all their hard work during the pandemic. This has been quite a year!

Marci Sillman, recently retired from KUOW, was our September speaker. She did an outstanding job talking about how the arts community was so badly affected by the pandemic. Plays, musicals, concerts and museums had to close or reduce their hours. All the support people for those events and venues were laid off or their hours drastically cut, resulting in many more people out of work this past year.

For our October 20, 2021, 10:30 am program we welcome Robin Layton ~ for “A VISUAL EXTRAVAGANZA” by this internationally renowned Artist /  Photographer / Videographer / Photojournalist!

Robin’s work hangs in the homes of prominent celebrities worldwide. She has photographed everyone from prom queens to actual kings, street people to presidents and personalities from Jennifer Aniston to Shaquille O'Neal.

Robin was producer of documentary films for the OWN Network, working closely with Oprah. Robin Layton is one of the top photojournalists in the country. Her list of credentials is astounding.
