May 3rd update: The Rusty Pelican Cafe is now open.
After much anticipation, the Rusty Pelican Cafe is opening in Mill Creek on Friday, May 3rd, 2013. It is located in Maple Leaf Square, close to Azteca in the former Patty's Eggnest space.
The Rusty Pelican Cafe is a family owned business with two other restaurants, one in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle and the other in Edmonds. American cuisine is their speciality with classic home-style dishes, and dessert.
The Cafe will be open 7 days a week, from 8am – 3pm. An extensive breakfast and lunch menu will be served all day. Cakes, pies and boxed lunches will also be available for purchase.
Delivery will be offered at lunchtime and the restaurant will be available for private parties at no charge for the space, after hours.
Owners Peter and Marilyn Limberopoulos are proud to say everything is homemade and made from scratch. There is nothing pre-made and Peter's soups and salad dressings have been his own recipes for the last 32 years. Marilyn does all the baking of their homemade desserts.
Marilyn and Peter moved to the Seattle area in 2000 after owning a restaurant in Chicago for 25 years. They started the Rusty Pelican Cafe in Seattle 12 years ago and more recently opened a restaurant in Edmonds that has been very successful.
The owners have twin daughters who are also partners in the restaurant. One of their daughters lives in Mill Creek. The family realized that Mill Creek needs an all day breakfast restaurant and would be the perfect place for their new venture.
