From a Rotary Club of Mill Creek press release.
The March 2021 Students of the Month were selected with the theme of Leadership.
Michaela is a tremendous leader. She possesses and demonstrates so many of the desirable skills that fall under the umbrella of leadership, and here are just a few.
Michaela communicates with her peers, people of authority (teachers or managers, employers), clients and others effectively and respectfully, even when the topic might be difficult and challenging.
She is motivated to do her best, and to show others how they too can perform at their best. Her motivation is demonstrated by her strong grades, her college applications, and the goals she continues to reach.
Michaela was hired as an employee of the MSD last year, for the position of Night Ward Care Attendant for the VA Classroom. Only the most responsible and trustworthy applicants are considered for this position.
The Rotary Club of Mill Creek honors Students of the Month from Henry M. Jackson High School, Archbishop Thomas J. Murphy High School, and Sno-Isle TECH Skills Center at the second weekly meeting of each month during the school year.
After being chosen by the principal and staff of their school based on the month's theme, the students and their families are invited to the meeting where each student speaks about their accomplishments and receives a Rotary Club of Mill Creek Student of the Month Certificate.
Rotary Club members can also ask questions of each student about their interests, goals and future plans.
Although the meetings are held via ZOOM during COVID, hopefully the students will soon be able to return to live meetings.
