From an April 28, 2021, Rotary Club of Mill Creek press release.

The April 2021 Students of the Month were selected with the theme of Scholar/Athlete.

The  Rotary Club of Mill Creek Student of the Month from Henry M. Jackson High School is Benny Sandico.

Benny is a student athlete playing both baseball and football throughout his life and high-school career.

He is a full-time Running Start student out of Cascadia College and will graduate with his Associates Degree this June.

Outside of school and sports, he enjoys making music and entertaining himself with new hobbies.

Next year he plans to attend the University of Washington Seattle as a major in psychology, in hopes of becoming a therapist.

The Rotary Club of Mill Creek honors Students of the Month from Henry M. Jackson High School, Archbishop Thomas J. Murphy High School, and Sno-Isle TECH Skills Center at the second weekly meeting of each month during the school year.

After being chosen by the principal and staff of their school based on the month's theme, the students and their families are invited to the meeting where each student speaks about their accomplishments and receives a Rotary Club of Mill Creek Student of the Month Certificate.

Rotary Club members can also ask questions of each student about their interests, goals and future plans.

Although the meetings are held via ZOOM during COVID, hopefully the students will soon be able to return to live meetings.
