Rotary International is proud to announce the newest club in the 5030 District. The Rotary Club of North Creek was officially chartered in August 2021, with twenty-two founding members.

We held our official Charter Party on November 18th at the Everett Golf & Country Club.

Our club motto is “Go out, Do good, and Have fun!”

Although most Rotary Clubs are run by a board that makes the directional decisions for their members, President David Mincks explained that this group has chosen to operate as a “Membership Directed club,” which means a unique feature of the new North Creek club is that all major decisions are made by the entire membership.

Although we have an experienced board comprised of David Mincks, President; Tom Betts, Treasurer; Mary Kay Voss, Secretary; Sharon Crosby, Community Service Chair; and Ron Ohlson, Membership, the board only meets to keep things moving and to provide some direction and leadership.

The North Creek club is different in other ways as well: Members meet only twice a month, Thursday evenings at 5:30 pm, to encourage greater participation for those who are working.

We have chosen to focus totally on local community service, coordinating with other organizations for work projects including the Mulkiteo Road Park in Everett with the Rotary Club of Port Gardner; loading backpacks for the Everett School District, working with the Mill Creek Chamber of Commerce for the Mill Creek Festival, and with the The Bread Booth, a charity located at Venture Church, providing gleaned food for those in need.

The North Creek club’s region of influence includes the North Bothell, Mill Creek, and Snohomish areas.

If any organization needs assistance with their projects, the Rotary Club of North Creek is available to help.

The club is excited to start with ten alums of other clubs and twelve people who have never been associated with Rotary before. This provides a lot of experienced leadership along with a many new ideas, plans, and outlook for the future.

If you would like more information about the Rotary Club of North Creek, please feel free to contact Ron Ohlson, 907-980-0320.

You can find us on FaceBook at fb.com/groups/northcreekrotary.

You are welcome to join us for our get-togethers either the second or the fourth Thursday of each month, currently being held at China City in Mill Creek Town Center at 5:30 pm.
