Shooting suspect arrested in I-90 road rage incident

In an I-90 road rage incident on Friday evening, September 24, 2021, a driver shot at a motorcycle rider after seeing the motorcycle rider make a gesture toward him. No one was injured and the shooter was taken into custody.

By Washington State Trooper Rick Johnson, September 28, 2021.

At approximately 7:55 pm on Friday, September 24th, Washington State Patrol communications received a 9-1-1 call from someone advising that they were shot at on I-90.

The caller said that they were on a motorcycle and made a gesture toward the driver of a Mazda passenger car with whom they were having an issue.

The driver then proceeded to display and fire a handgun once toward the motorcycle grazing the front fender.

The motorcycle rider refused suggestions to stop following the Mazda and continued doing so until troopers intercepted and stopped them at the side of the road.

At this time the driver of the Mazda was taken into custody without incident. The handgun was removed from his waistband and taken as evidence.

The suspect was identified as Axel Pola from Seattle and he was booked into the King County Jail on the charge of Drive By Shooting.

This is a good reminder to drive/ride with respect for others on the roadway especially since it is unknown what other drivers are capable of as shown in this case.

Thankfully no injuries were sustained in this shooting.
