The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a mentally disabled 50 year-old man who wandered away from his residence Tuesday morning, May 13, 2014, in south Snohomish County.
Verne Willard is believed to have left his adult family home at the 1900 block of 149th Street SW in Lynnwood around 6 am.
According to Willard’s mother, it is not uncommon for Willard to leave the facility for a few hours, but when she was notified by the home that he was still missing around 10:30 am, she started searching for him herself. She then contacted the Sheriff’s Office after a few hours when she was unable to locate her son.
Willard does not suffer from any life threatening medical condition nor is he a threat to public safety, but he is unable to care for himself due to his disability.
He is believed to be in the South Everett or North Lynnwood area, along 148th St SW or Hwy 99.
Willard is 5’10” and 160 lbs. with brown eyes and sandy brown hair and is missing his three front teeth. It is believed that he is wearing a black NASCAR jacket that has several patches and emblems on it and dark colored denim jeans.
Anyone with information about Willard’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately.
