Sultan boys edge Archbishop Murphy 68-62 in a District 1/2 Basketball Tournament consolation game

The Sultan High School boys basketball team edged Archbishop Murphy High School 68-62 in a 2A District 1/2 Tournament loser-out game at Archbishop Murphy High School on Monday, February 11, 2013.

The Everett Herald reports, “Brock VandenEkart scored 26 points as Sultan rallied to beat Archbishop Murphy 68-62 in a loser-out game to advance to the consolation semifinals of the 2A District 1/2 Boys Basketball Tournament on Monday.”

“Josh Parafina, who paced Archbishop Murphy with 21 points, and Chase White combined for nine 3-pointers.”

“The Turks didn't actually take the lead until near the end of the fourth, and they only led 58-56 with 1:30 to play. The Wildcats called time out to run a play and Sultan forced a five-second call on the inbounds play. The Turks scored on the following possession with about 1:20 left, making it a two-possession game.”
